Are You Living in a Matrix?
Breaking Free from Illusions That Limit Your Faith and Power.
The Matrix of Theology: Unveiling the Hidden Architect
Neo lived in a world that felt real, familiar, and unquestionable. Like everyone else, he assumed the reality he saw was all there was. He believed in the structures and systems around him, much like many Christians hold to long-standing theological frameworks without question. But Neo couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing, a truth hidden just beyond his reach.
One day, Neo was introduced to Morpheus, a man who spoke of a deeper truth, one that would challenge everything Neo thought he knew. “You’ve felt it, haven’t you?” Morpheus asked. “A sense that there’s more. That the world you live in is an illusion designed to keep you from seeing the truth.”
Morpheus offered Neo a choice: take the red pill and see reality for what it truly is, or take the blue pill and return to the comforting illusion. Hesitantly, Neo chose the red pill.
The Illusion of the Matrix
As Neo awakened, he discovered that the world he thought was real was, in fact, a simulation—an elaborate system called the Matrix, designed to enslave humanity. The Matrix had been created by the Architect, a cold and distant figure who orchestrated every aspect of the illusion.
Neo’s understanding of the Matrix parallels how many Christians view their faith. For years, Neo, like many believers, had accepted a framework where the visible structures defined reality. In the theological sense, this mirrors the belief that Jesus and the Father are indistinguishably the same. Jesus is seen as the totality of God, with the Father hidden behind the illusion.
What If...
What if Satan’s strategy is to craft a belief system that allows you to experience some aspects of faith but keeps you disconnected from the fullness of God’s promises?
What if the illusions Satan creates give you a sense of comfort in your theology but subtly prevent you from walking in true power, intimacy, and holiness?
Why do you still sin, even though you know deep down that the excuses or theological explanations don’t satisfy the ache that something is missing?
Do you truly believe that God would command something—such as living in holiness—if it were not possible in this lifetime?
“But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’” (1 Peter 1:15-16)
Does your theology satisfy you when you claim, “We won’t be holy until we leave this earth”? Or is it a convenient way to avoid the call to obedience?
What about works and grace? Have you manipulated Scripture to justify continuing in the world as you wish, when the Word clearly states, “Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God” (James 4:4)?
Why do so many struggle to be intimate with God? Why don’t we hear His voice clearly? Is it possible that the illusion has blinded us to the simplicity of walking in obedience to His Word?
Scripture to Reflect On
“Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)
Do you believe this command is achievable, or have you dismissed it as unattainable in this life?
“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (John 14:23)
What might be blocking the intimacy promised here?
“Faith without works is dead.” (James 2:26)
Are we using “grace” as an excuse to avoid the obedience and works that demonstrate true faith?
Challenge to the Reader
Are you living under an illusion that keeps you satisfied with partial truth but disconnected from the fullness of God’s promises?
Have you settled for theological frameworks that make sin seem inevitable and holiness impossible?
Is it time to question what you’ve been taught and step into the reality of what Jesus promised—greater works, intimate fellowship with the Father, and the power to walk in holiness?
“You’ve been longing for deeper faith, for real transformation, for power in your walk with God—but let me ask you: where have you been looking? Has what you know been built on the voice of the Holy Spirit, or has it been filtered through human opinions, books, sermons, and endless repetitions of what others have said? You wonder why your faith feels dry, why you struggle to hear God clearly, yet you keep drinking from shallow wells dug by human hands.
Scripture says, ‘You need no man to teach you, for His anointing teaches you about all things’ (1 John 2:27). So why are you content with secondhand revelations? The Spirit of God Himself—the One who knows the depths of the Father’s will—is within you. He’s waiting for you to stop relying on everyone else’s voice and start seeking His directly.
This isn’t condemnation—it’s an invitation. The Spirit is calling you to step out of the noise and into intimacy with Him. Are you ready to let go of the regurgitated knowledge and hear directly from the source? It’s time to stop settling for crumbs and start feasting on what God Himself is ready to reveal to you.”
This article is talking about what the Lord has been teaching me for the past five years since my wife died in December 2019. He's shown me how to live in a daily practical holiness. He's taught me how to verifiably talk with him to get practical counsel on what to do. He's pulled me entirely out of the world until He told me to write my book "Biblical Reality". This was followed by the guidance to start my Biblical Reality Substack. I do not know what His plans are yet. But something is coming. If I can help you, let me know. This is all stuff I have been doing and learning since I met the Lord 51 years ago next week.
